UPDATE: KeAi is in a longterm, loving foster home! Very likely a slow foster-fail situation. 🙂
KeAi (Cutey) is an old boy with severe heart disease with spinal arthritis. He has been with a long-term foster (fospice) the last half year and gets a LOT of love and care. We still pay all his medical bills, which are considerable, and he has a great life. He had been clearly abandoned by his former family (along with leash and all) at the edge of an apartment complex. He is an absolute sweetheart and loves going for walks, getting just as excited about going out as he would have when he was still a puppy.

This is how I always want to remember Xiaoling. She left us this a few weeks ago. She was always very quiet, but goofy. Although too big to be legally adoptable in most parts of Beijing, she had a good life us and was always one of Auntie Chou’s favorites.
UPDATE: NANA passed away but spent her last weeks in the most loving family she’s ever had. [Updated photos below.] After having a mammary gland tumor removed a few months ago, Nana developed a new tumor just behind her front right leg. Dr. Chen of Heng Ai operated yesterday, saying that he was able to get margins on the removal while not damaging critical nerves and blood vessels (this was a lucky). Waiting for pathology report. Nana previously had a massive mammary gland tumor before we first rescued her. She is a super friendly dog, with a lot of spirit. If there were a family willing to take her in for her final years – her prognosis won’t be great, but we’re hoping for the best.
